The Merkur Heavy Duty Slant Bar Razor has an identical handle to the regular Merkur Heavy Duty. The difference though, is the razor head. No, the bar on this razor is not some sort of horrible manufacturing defect, but it is in fact designed to be on a 'slant'. This gives the razor the effect of 'slicing' across your face. A slant bar is considered to be much more aggressive than both a straight bar and open-comb razor. I would not recommend this razor for a beginner as it requires great technique and razor control. In the right hands however, this razor may become your best friend.
